When you download the Kindle book make sure you select the audio companion and you are good to go. No more having to put down a book at a really good part! This works with all current Kindle readers and books. So you could go from reading at home to listening to the audio version in the car without skipping a beat. In 2012 the partnership brought about WhisperSync for Voice, which makes it possible to switch seamlessly from where your were reading to listening without having to search or losing your spot in a book. In 2008 a natural partnership between Amazon, the worlds largest seller of books, and Audbile, the worlds largest provider of audiobooks, was formed and the two companies joined forces to bring audiobooks to millions of customers. But what to play them on? It wasn’t really feasible to bring your desktop computer running with you! In 1997 Audible released the worlds first portable digital audio player, obviously they didn’t end up winning out against the iPod but they do get the distinction of being first and example is now on display at the Smithsonian.
